Accessibility statement

1. Commitment and current status

Scout Atlas Limited ("the Company") wants scoutatlas.uk and its documentation subdomain docs.scoutatlas.uk to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with visual, motor, auditory or cognitive disabilities, and it builds both to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This statement covers both sites, and where something is true of only one of them it says so. Both have passed automated accessibility checks and keyboard navigation tests in development, and honour the reduced-motion setting. Neither has yet been tested manually with screen readers or other assistive technology, or audited in full against WCAG 2.2 AA, so the Company does not yet claim conformance for either. A full audit is planned, and this statement will be updated with its results.

2. Motion and animation

scoutatlas.uk uses animated transitions and an entry sequence. The documentation subdomain has neither an entry sequence nor animated transitions beyond a small number of short interface transitions. Anyone whose device or browser is set to reduce motion sees a reduced-motion version of these effects automatically, on either site. This setting is found under "Reduce motion" in the accessibility settings of Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, and most browsers respect it. The Company intends to add an on-page control for visitors who cannot change that setting.

3. Known limitations

The following are known at the date of this statement, and all of them are on scoutatlas.uk. The entry screen shown on first visit must be dismissed with a button before the rest of that website can be reached, and the button's label does not yet explain that it opens the website; the Company intends to relabel it and to add a visible "Skip" option. The heading on its home page appears one character at a time, which some screen readers may announce in fragments; the full heading is available immediately in the page's text. Its contact form is not yet connected, so messages typed into it are not delivered; the contact details in clause 4 should be used instead. None of those three exist on the documentation subdomain, which has no entry screen, no animated heading and no contact form. No separate limitation is recorded for the documentation subdomain at the date of this statement. Further items will be added for either site after the full audit described in clause 1.

4. Reporting a problem or requesting an alternative format

Anyone who finds part of this website difficult to use, or who needs its content in an alternative format such as plain text, large print or a format that works with a particular assistive technology, can contact the Company by email at sharifhamza635@gmail.com or by post at Scout Atlas Limited, 1 Armstrong House, High Street, Uxbridge, UB8 1GJ, as well as through the contact form on scoutatlas.uk once it is connected. Email and post are the routes from the documentation subdomain, which carries no contact form. The Company will acknowledge a report within five working days, say what it intends to do about it, and aim to fix a genuine accessibility problem within 20 working days or explain why it will take longer. Anyone who is not satisfied with the Company's response can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (equalityadvisoryservice.com), which advises on rights under the Equality Act 2010.

5. How this statement was prepared

This statement was prepared on 19 September 2026, extended to cover the documentation subdomain on 23 September 2026, and last reviewed on 23 September 2026. scoutatlas.uk was tested by the Company using automated checking tools (Lighthouse) and keyboard navigation at three screen widths, in light and dark themes, on current versions of Chrome, Safari and Firefox. The documentation subdomain was tested with keyboard navigation in both themes, including its skip link and its visible focus states, and has not been put through Lighthouse or any other automated audit tool. Both sites rely on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SVG, and are built to work with assistive technology that supports those standards. Manual testing with assistive technology has not yet been carried out on either.

6. Changes to this statement

The Company may update this statement from time to time, including after running a fresh accessibility audit. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
